| Linn - it dosent get much
better! |
The ultimate home theatre would be
a very large acoustically treated room with the listener at the
focus of a circle where he is surrounded by equally sized full
range speakers.
Each speaker is capable of delivering all of the program
material at the pressure required with wide dynamic range so fine
details can be distinguished (the pin drop test).
It is rarely the case that we find ourselves in this ideal
situation so some compromises are usually made whereby the largest
elements of the full range speakers are incorporated into the 'bass
unit' reducing the size of the speakers to the point where they are
aesthetically acceptable. The smaller the 'satellites' the
more compromise has been made for aesthetics.
Sub Sat combinations are available in various configurations
along with full range free-standing speakers and inwall and in
ceiling music and home theatre speakers.
Your home theatre consultant will ask questions about your
family's preferences and with regards to the available space and
aesthetic requirements present you with several options for your
consideration.
